Hi everyone,

There doesn't seem to be many people around these parts, but I thought I'd give it a try.

Anyone ever take an LSAT prep course? I'm thinking about it before I take the test but I want to make sure it's worth the $1300 before I commit.

Is there anyone willing to share their experiences? What about online LSAT prep courses?

I have not personally taken the LSAT since I am only still in high school but my older brother did take the LSAT and did do the prep course and he did amazingly well on his LSAT's so I would say that it is definantly worth it and I plan to take a prep course in the future.

I think that it would really depend upon the person. If you are able to be self-taught then you can do really well on your LSATs just studying by yourself. However, if you need a class I would definitely shop around to get my money’s worth.

I have a few friends who took this course and some that didn't. There were two of my friends who did not take this prep course and they scored higher. I think it all depends on how well you study and take in information. If you feel that it will help you than I would take the course.

I did choose to take the LSAT prep course and I can say that it was well worth it. I was able to score about 200 points more after I took the course then I did doing a pre test prior to the course. I would recommend it to anyone.

I want to take advantage of any courses I can do online to prepare myself. I am sure there has to be a reputable source of online study for LSAT. Is the LSAT available to take online?

I liked the prep course and found that it was much better than trying to prep myself. When I tried preping alone there was no one that I could ask a question to, with the classes there is a professor there that can answer almost all of your questions for you. I just felt much more prepared after the course.

If you do a search online for free LSAT prep you can find practide tests, you can get a good indication of strengths and weaknesses from these, take several. My son is choosing to do an online review course, when he picks I will post details for everyone.

LSAT is a timed test that requires you to be efficient when you do the various sections. I tried to take the test after self preparation and scored 147. Then, I took a prep course by a company on the west coast and improved my score by 2 points to 149. Desperate, I enrolled in the Turboprep course by MLIC and found the training to be quite beneficial. My score improved by 17 points to 166, sufficient to get me into the school of my choosing. I learned the most efficient way to process information and to work through the different sections. A multiple choice format is about determining which options you will not pick as much as it is about which one you will. Therefore, it will be useful to get some professional training. My experience is that MLIC training was very professional, their training materials outstanding, and their test-taking strategies simply the best. MLIC also has an online prep course you can register in if you cannot find a course near you. My sense is that MLIC does not offer courses in smaller markets in the United States.

Good Luck to you.
