Hey everyone,
I have a dilemma that I’m sure some of you also have around this time of the admissions cycle. I originally applied to many schools (25 in total) I got half rejections and half waiting lists with only two acceptances. The reason why it was like that is because I have a 3.94 and a 160 and I applied to the top 25 or so schools in the country as well as a few safeties. I know it wasn’t the smartest thing to do but I did it and it actually worked out pretty well. ( I knew most of the t14 will be rejections but I did get Waitlisted at Virginia so you never know…heh)
I got into Cardozo and Brooklyn Law and got places on about 13 or so waiting lists, of which I have received admissions from three so far. I decided to choose George Washington Full Time. I am still on numerous waiting lists and I’m probably going to withdraw from a number of them. Before I get any more waiting list acceptances (maybe I won’t who knows?) back, I wanted to ask you guys about your opinions of choosing certain schools over others. I don’t think I will get $$ anyways so money is not an issue. I am still considering (if admitted of course) UCLA, Vanderbilt, Fordham, and Virginia.
I know what you’re thinking, go to Virginia if they take you in an instant, but they probably won’t. Between UCLA, Vanderbilt, and Fordham, they will probably give me a few days to decide and when they do, I might not know what to do. I think I want to do something government related but I’m not sure right now maybe biglaw… and I want a school with a national reputation so my degree can be transferable if I choose to work in another area of the country. Is George Washington the best choice for me out of the schools I mentioned? If I attend Fordham, I will live at home and commute to school which will save money. (I live in Brooklyn, NY if you haven’t figured it out by my handlename)
Last thing, what do you think my chances are at this point in the cycle for Virginia Waiting list. I’m on the non-priority waiting list as a non-resident BUT I sent in the binding decision waiting list form and a LOCI. Any ideas?
Thank you for your help!
